The Company was incorporated in Nigeria as a private limited liability company on 28th February 1960 as a wholly owned subsidiary of Odu'a Investment Company Limited, to transact insurance business as a composite insurer, until September 2005 when the Global Fleet Group bought the majority shares. With the divestment of the shares held by the Global Fleet Group and sale of substantial part of the holdings of Odu'a Investment Company Limited to Wema Asset Management Limited in September 2006, it became a member of the Wema Bank Plc Group. The Company is principally engaged in the business of providing risk underwriting and related financial services to its customers. Such services include provision of life and non-life insurance services to both corporate and individual customers.
