The shares of the company were held 46.4% by GlaxoSmithKline plc UK through its wholly owned subsidiaries, Setfirst limited and Smithkline Beecham Limited (both incorporated in the UK); and 53.6% by Nigerian shareholders. Its principal activities are the manufacturing, marketing and distribution of consumer healthcare and pharmaceutical products.
