Diamond bank Plc was incorporated in Nigeria as a private limited liability company on 20 December, 1990. The bank is licensed and supervised by the Central Bank of Nigeria as a universal bank. The bank converted to a public limited liability company in February, 2005 and its shares are listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange on 27 May, 2005. A foreign financial investor (Actis DB (UK) Holdings Limited) holds 14.79% of the banks equity while the balance is held by individual and institutional investors.
